Sands of Time

~enchantedworld

The dark fades out

Sun peeps through the shades

Myriad colours, sky canvas of brilliance

He soars up, slowly, the sun

Stars that fluttered in dark

Sparkly shiny twinkle stars

Loose their glitter

On the sands of time

The moon and her loony tunes

Sings to herself a lullaby

Puts herself to sleep

Amidst the din and bustle of the day

A whole population wakes up

To the dancing tunes of the bright

Wake up and shine, my merry sunshine

Cuddles a mom, her toddler turned preschooler

The milkman arrives, the newspaper boy whistles

An early morning song

A brisk walk

A cuppa that’s piping hot, Aah! My Chai :)

The day withers on, slowly and slowly

Fully aware of its strength

Even more aware of its senility and momentousness

Yet, never stopping, nary a care

Hush! Baby pigeon, O! What’s the name of a fledgling?

Come to the nest, come back home, li’l one

The birds are ushered back to their nest of hay strains and twigs

Hark! The lark goes hush on songs

The crickets’ cackle, the frogs burp

The night sounds on

A distant horn, a passing automobile

Disturbs the silence, albeit less intense than day

The constellation arrives

Chatting and giggling, O! These young stars

Just like those teenage girls

Cant stop shining and twinkling, eyes filled with adventure and hope

Thus we travel

Hand in hand to a common abode

Shining, sleeping, cackling, or just lying down

Staring at those sands of time, passing… passing and then to be gone...
